Myasnik (Nik) Poghosyan

Analyst, Economic & Policy Consulting

Myasnik (Nik) Poghosyan joined the LAEDC in July 2007 as Analyst for the Economic and Policy Consulting department.  In this capacity, he collects, organizes and analyzes data for the Consulting department’s economic impact studies.

Prior to the LAEDC, Mr. Poghosyan was an intern at the Los Angeles Economy and Jobs Committee where he assisted members of the “Doing Business In LA” task force with the cross-city business tax comparison analysis.  He was also involved in analyzing the direct and indirect effects of the Gross Receipt Tax imposed on business owners having their companies established in the City of Los Angeles. 

An Armenia native, Mr. Poghosyan studied at Yerevan State Institute of National Economy, to the Department of Statistics, in Armenia before arriving in the U.S. in 1999 by the invitation of an international student organization called VFP (Volunteers for Peace).  He held a BA in Economics from California State University, Northridge, and is expecting to receive his MA in Economics from California State University Los Angeles in June 2008.
