Eydie Galper Grossman

Vice President of Strategic Relations

Eydie Galper Grossman is Vice President of Strategic Relations at the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), the region’s premier business leadership organization whose mission is to attract, retain and grow business and jobs in the regions of LA County. The LAEDC has helped attract and retain more than 147,700 jobs from over 936 businesses, providing $7.3 billion in annual direct economic impact from salaries and an estimated $105 million in annual tax revenue benefit to Los Angeles County. In her role at the LAEDC, Eydie is responsible for identifying and recruiting key businesses and business leaders from the public and private sectors to support the company’s mission through both membership contributions and thought leadership by participating in the Company’s key Strategic Advisory Committees. 

Prior to joining the LAEDC, Eydie served as Director of Membership and Development at CONNECT, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining the growth of innovative technology and life sciences businesses in San Diego. CONNECT is widely regarded as the nation's most successful regional program linking inventors and entrepreneurs with the resources they need for success, and since its founding in 1985 by UC San Diego, has assisted in the formation and development of more than 1,000 companies.  In her role there she was responsible for growing and sustaining the organization's revenues, leading the CONNECT Policy Committee and representing CONNECT in the San Diego community. In 2006, Eydie more than doubled CONNECT’S membership revenues and added nearly 100 new members to the organization.

Eydie has a strong background in the high tech industry, having spent several years at Gateway, Inc. and as Vice President of Marketing at Think Outside, Inc., the manufacturer of the world's first full-size keyboard for PDA's that folds to pocket size.  She also spent three years at Qualcomm leading the launch of the pdQ Smartphone, the industry’s first combined Palm Pilot and digital wireless phone.

A long-time violinist, Eydie received a music scholarship to UCLA, but later developed an interest in Sociology, and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in that field.  She later received her MBA from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
